Isuzu has joined automotive companies that make vehicles that don’t use fossil fuels. Recently, they have launched their first all-electric vehicle. This initiative will undoubtedly contribute positively to the environment and generate competition in the thriving automotive sector, which has attracted growing public interest.

This totally eco-friendly transport vehicle is called “ELF BEV”, which has been presented in Japan as a response to the high polluting emissions produced by the logistics sector. According to the automaker, this electric vehicle will be the first of its kind to be mass-produced by the Japanese brand. During its presentation, Isuzu shared the following technical information:

“We developed compact battery packs (20 kWh/unit) and adopted a module system that can accommodate from two packs (40 kWh) to a maximum of five packs (100 kWh) of high-voltage batteries depending on vehicle class and usage.”

Isuzu goes big with ELF BEV

Isuzu’s ”ELF BEV” electric transport vehicle will not only have batteries with good capacity but will also have the possibility of normal or fast charging depending on the needs of that moment. In addition, it will be possible to control the amount of energy to be used by means of a device designed for this purpose, as explained by those responsible.

At the moment, these models will only be produced in Japan, although the company has stated its intentions to take them to other countries in the not-too-distant future. Isuzu has reported that the ELF BEV bases its design on the evolution of six key points which are: design, ergonomics, economy, safety, connectivity, and product range. The objective is to achieve a significant reduction in CO2 gases through a revolutionary internal combustion engine that will be equipped with other improvements that will be announced later.
